2019 Important Tax Deadlines

As the New Year comes and goes we can’t forget the important dates and deadlines set by the IRS. Here are the dates and descriptions of important deadlines for the calendar year 2019**.

January 15th, 2019

4th Quarter estimated tax payments are due for tax year 2018 for individuals.

January 31st, 2019

W-2 forms are to be filed and distributed to recipients.  All annual information statements (Forms 1099) are due to recipients for most payments, including:  dividends, interest, rent, royalties, retirement plan distributions, cash payments over $10,000, original issue discount, prizes and awards, medical and health care payments, debt cancellation and miscellaneous income for workers who are not considered employees.

February 28th, 2019

All 1099 paper forms must be filed with the IRS for proceeds from broker and barter exchange transactions, proceeds from real estate transactions and gross proceeds paid to an attorney.

March 15th, 2019

Form 1065, the tax return required for Partnerships is due.

March 15th, 2019

Form 1120S, the tax return required for S Corporations is due.  Form 2553 for a Corporation to be treated as an S-Corporation is also due for the 2019 tax year.

March 15th, 2019

Forms 1042-S for foreign payments are due to recipients and the IRS.

April 1st, 2019

Electronic filing of forms W-2, 1099 and 1098 are due.

April 15th, 2019

Form 1040, the tax return required for individuals is due.

April 15th, 2019

Form 1041, the tax return required for Trusts and Estates is due.

April 15th, 2019

FinCEN 114, foreign bank account reporting required by FinCEN is due.

April 15th, 2019

1st Quarter estimated tax payments are due for tax year 2019 for individuals and C Corporations.

April 15th, 2019

Form 1120, the tax return required for C Corporations is due.  Any tax due must also be paid by this date.

June 17th, 2019

2nd Quarter estimated tax payments are due for the tax year 2019 for individuals and C Corporations.

September 16th, 2019

3rd Quarter estimated tax payments are due for the tax year 2019 for individuals and C Corporations.

September 16th, 2019

Form 1065 for partnership returns and Form 1120S for S-Corporations are due if an extension was filed timely.

September 30th, 2019

Form 1041 for Trust and Estates Income tax returns are due if an extension was filed timely.

October 15th, 2019

Form 1040 for Individual tax returns and Form 1120 for Corporations are due if an extension was filed timely.

December 16th, 2019

4th Quarter estimated tax payments are due for tax year 2019 for C Corporations.

January 15th, 2020

4th Quarter estimated tax payments are due for tax year 2019 for individuals.

** Fiscal year business filers follow different filing guidelines based on 3 months quarters.
