Audit Manager/Sr. Audit Manager

  • Simultaneously lead multiple audit engagements for a variety of clients.
  • Develop and prepare the audit strategy and manage budgets.
  • Provide various assurance and consulting services to our clients and offer solutions for complex issues and problems.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge regarding relevant regulations, current business practices and industry trends.
  • Responsible for resolving accounting, auditing, and other issues that arise during the audit process.
  • Perform effective risk and control assessments/analysis.
  • Provide exceptional client service, develop deep client relationships, maintain high client satisfaction, and become a trusted advisor.
  • Supervise, delegate and develop audit team members.
  • Generate new business and cross selling leads with existing clients.
Qualifications of a strong candidate include:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or other related field
  • CPA licensure
  • 5+ years of relevant audit experience
  • In-depth understanding of auditing and control practices, methodologies, and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, staff development and management skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CCH Axcess, FX Engagement, and QuickBooks a plus

Tax Manager/Sr. Tax Manager

Tax Manager/Sr. Tax Manager – Estate & Trust

We are interested in candidates who are passionate about public accounting and driven to excel in their careers. What you can expect in this role: The role will primarily be working on estate, gift and trust clients as well as overall tax client work.
  • Lead multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax preparation, research, planning and consulting services for a variety of clients
  • Review and prepare estate, gift and fiduciary income tax returns
  • Perform Power of Attorney responsibilities for clients and follow up with government authorities as required
  • Perform estate research and tax analysis and document findings/conclusions
  • Keep up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Develop, supervise and delegate responsibilities to estate/trust team
  • Provide exceptional client service and develop trusting client relationships
  • Generate new business and cross-sell leads with existing clients
Qualifications of a strong candidate include:
  • 5-10 years of relevant compliance experience specializing in estate, gift, trust, and tax services
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other recognized business credential required
  • CPA licensure required, Juris Doctor degree a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with software pertaining to estate tax returns, gift tax returns, fiduciary accounting, and income tax returns is a plus

Audit/Tax Senior Staff Accountant

  • Work directly with partners and managers on tax & audit teams
  • Gain comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives
  • Prepare or review business, individual, and personal property tax returns (including partnerships, C-corporations, and S-corporations).
  • Participate/perform audits, reviews and compilations
  • Prepare and review financial statements and workpapers
  • Review the work of less experienced team members and provide guidance/mentorship
  • Develop relationships with clients and participate in networking and business development activities.
  • Learn and grow from on the job coaching and mentoring.
Qualifications of a strong candidate include:
  • 2+ years of relevant audit and/or tax experience

Staff Accountant

  • Learn tax concepts and apply appropriate code and regulations to client situations
  • Record transactions in ledgers, prepare trial balances and simple financial statements
  • Reconcile accounts to control accounts
Qualifications of a strong candidate include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • 150 credit hours completed or master’s in accounting a plus
  • Actively working toward passing the CPA Exam as soon as possible

Audit/Tax Intern (Winter 2024)

Are you looking to start your career in public accounting? Are you interested in a firm that provides the advantages of a smaller more personal work environment while offering the complexity of work of a larger firm? Would you like to experience both audit and tax work while being exposed to a variety of clients in different industries? Are you seeking mentorship that sets you up for success in this field? Gordon Advisors offers all that and more! We are seeking full-time or part-time interns for the 2024 winter tax season (January 3, 2023 – April 15, 2024). Internship positions have the potential to lead to full-time offers. What you can expect in this role: During the internship, our intern staff will be engaged in all parts of our firm learning about accounting, audit and tax while working with clients in a variety of different industries from manufacturing, real estate, nonprofits, distribution and professional service firms. Our interns will build their skills by working directly on client engagements while being mentored by partners, senior managers and other team members. You will have the opportunity to:
  • Gain audit & tax experience by working directly on client engagements
  • Learn to identify documents and their purpose (K-1s, W-2s, 1099s)
  • Prepare & compile basic individual and personal property tax (PPT) returns
  • Apply audit procedures and assist with documentation (e.g., cash, A/R, fixed assets)
  • Become knowledgeable regarding components of financial statements
Qualifications of a strong candidate include:
  • Enrolled as a student during the 2023/2024 school year, pursuing an accounting major
  • Student enrolled in a Master of Accounting or Tax program is a plus
  • Completed at least 1st semester junior year
  • Understand basic accounting principles
  • Successfully passed Intermediate Financial Accounting by start of internship
  • Be eligible to work in the US without employment sponsorship now and in the future
Internship positions are a paid, 20-40 hour/week commitment beginning Wednesday, January 3, 2024 through the end of tax season on Monday, April 15, 2024. Individuals looking for a part-time internship would need to be available to work in the office 5 days/week (for ex. 4 hours/day Monday-Friday).

Full-Charge Bookkeeper

Do you have bookkeeping experience and are looking for a more flexible working environment? We are seeking full-time or part-time experienced full-charge bookkeepers who will have the opportunity to work on-site in our office, on-site at our clients and remotely from home. What you can expect in this role:
  • Manage all aspects of accounts receivable and payables, general ledger, financial statements and payroll for our clients
  • Monthly/annual sales tax return preparation & payments
  • Process corporate bank account reviews and reconciliations
  • General ledger maintenance
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Perform End of Month and Year End close processes
  • Research, troubleshoot, and provide recommendations for clients regarding accounting issues
Qualifications of a strong candidate include:
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Associate in Accounting degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience in QuickBooks
  • Professional presentation and conduct
  • Must be responsible, self-managed, and have excellent follow-up skills
  • Able to travel to local client locations
  • Knowledge of corporate tax payments and filings is a plus
