- You will gain access to your tax return where you can:
- Download it, review it, print it, etc.
- Electronically sign your e-file authorization forms.

Taxpayer Questions
After signing my e-file authorization form(s), will I receive confirmation that it was successfully submitted?
Yes! Once you sign your e-file authorization form(s) you will receive an email stating it was successful. The email will also include a link to download a copy of your tax return for your records.
Can I set-up reminders for my quarterly estimated payment?
If estimated payments are included in your review copy, you will automatically receive an email reminder a number of days before the payment is due. The timeframe is established by the firm in their voucher settings; these can be adjusted or even turned off by the firm.
You can also edit your voucher reminder settings in the ‘Pay’ screen of your return.
How is this Process Different from E-Filing?
SafeSend Returns allows you to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s), but it won’t submit your return to the IRS. Once signed, the preparer is automatically notified, and your tax professional will then complete the filing process for you, including submission to the IRS.
How to Request an Access Code
If a Partner/Shareholder declines to e-sign the K-1 how will I know?
When we send an 1120S or 1065 to a client through SafeSend, the client can send a link to their shareholders/members so they can download their own K-1. The K-1 recipient must consent to receive the document electronically.
Is it Safe to Enter my Social Security Number?
Yes! SafeSend offers a secure system to view and sign your e-file authorization form(s). Look for HTTPS:// at the beginning of the site URL and a locked padlock symbol in your browser’s URL bar to confirm you are on a secure site.
I’d rather print and sign my e-file authorization form(s) – Can I do that?
Yes – You can still print, sign and either mail your e-file form(s) back to the tax preparer or upload them to SafeSend Returns if you’d prefer to do so. You can select the “Print, Sign and Return” button in the ‘Sign’ section of your return. This will allow you to print, sign, and upload your tax documents.
Manual Signing Process – Taxpayer View
My spouse and I are filing our return jointly – How can we both sign the e-file authorization form(s)?
- If both spouses have an email address on file, both will receive an email with a link to view the return and sign the e-file authorization form(s). First, one spouse will receive the link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. He or she will sign the e-file authorization form(s), and an email link will be sent to the second spouse. The second spouse will answer identity verification questions specific to him/her, then sign the form(s).
- If only one spouse has an email address on file, that spouse will first receive the link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. He or she will sign the e-file authorization form(s) and then enter an email address for the second spouse. The second spouse will then receive the email link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. Once the second spouse electronically signs the e-file authorization form(s), Gordon Advisors will be notified that signing is complete.
- If a couple shares an email address, the primary signer will first receive a link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. After the primary signer signs the e-file authorization form(s), he/she can then enter the shared email address again. A new link will be sent with identity verification questions specific to the second spouse.
What does the K-1 Consent Screen look like?
Below is a screenshot of what the consent box looks like for the K-1 forms.
What if I don’t receive an email with my access code?
If you do not receive and enter the code within the 20-minute time limit please try requesting another. They can take 1-5 minutes to arrive.
You may also want to check in your Junk/Spams folders as sometimes it can be filtered. We would also suggest searching for “noreply@safesendreturns.com” in case it may be hidden in another location.
If you are having your items sent to a work or business email you may also want to check with your I.T. department to see if you have any emails being quarantined.
If you have checked all items listed above please reach out to your Accounting Firm for further assistance.
Where do the identity verification questions come from? What if I don’t remember the answer?
The questions SafeSend Returns asks are knowledge-based questions pulled from government and credit sources. You may be asked things like where you lived in a given year, or when you bought your car or home.
If you don’t remember the answers to the questions, or answer incorrectly, you won’t be able to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s). Due to these questions being pulled by a 3rd party company (LexisNexis), we are not able to correct or change the information being asked (including misspellings of names). You can instead print, sign and return your e-file authorization form(s) to your tax preparer.
Will I receive a notification when my return is ready to sign?
Yes! Email notifications regarding your return will be sent from noreply@safesendreturns.com or noreply@safesend.com. The initial email will contain a link you can use to access and sign your return.
Will this work on any internet-connected device? Does SafeSend Returns offer an app for my smartphone?
This process can be completed on any computer, smartphone, or tablet via a web browser. There is currently no SafeSend Returns app available.
We recommend that you use Google Chrome (recommended), Firefox, Edge, or Safari. We do not recommend Internet Explorer because Microsoft has stopped supporting it, which can cause issues when working through this process.
