Audit manager/Sr. audit manager

What you can expect in this role:

  • Simultaneously lead multiple audit engagements for a variety of clients.
  • Develop and prepare the audit strategy and manage budgets.
  • Provide various assurance and consulting services to our clients and offer solutions for complex issues and problems.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge regarding relevant regulations, current business practices and industry trends.
  • Responsible for resolving accounting, auditing, and other issues that arise during the audit process.
  • Perform effective risk and control assessments/analysis.
  • Provide exceptional client service, develop deep client relationships, maintain high client satisfaction, and become a trusted advisor.
  • Supervise, delegate and develop audit team members.
  • Generate new business and cross selling leads with existing clients.

Qualifications of a strong candidate include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or other related field
  • CPA licensure
  • 5+ years of relevant audit experience
  • In-depth understanding of auditing and control practices, methodologies, and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, staff development and management skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CCH Axcess, FX Engagement, and QuickBooks a plus

Tax manager/Sr. tax manager – estate & trust

Gordon Advisors offers all that and more! We are seeking to hire a Tax Manager or Sr. Tax Manager for a full-time or reduced-hours role with experience in estate and trust. We are interested in candidates who are passionate about public accounting and driven to excel in their careers. What you can expect in this role: The role will primarily be working on estate, gift and trust clients as well as overall tax client work.

  • Lead multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax preparation, research, planning and consulting services for a variety of clients
  • Review and prepare estate, gift and fiduciary income tax returns
  • Perform Power of Attorney responsibilities for clients and follow up with government authorities as required
  • Perform estate research and tax analysis and document findings/conclusions
  • Keep up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Develop, supervise and delegate responsibilities to estate/trust team
  • Provide exceptional client service and develop trusting client relationships
  • Generate new business and cross-sell leads with existing clients

Qualifications of a strong candidate include:

  • 5-10 years of relevant compliance experience specializing in estate, gift, trust, and tax services
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other recognized business credential required
  • CPA licensure required, Juris Doctor degree a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with software pertaining to estate tax returns, gift tax returns, fiduciary accounting, and income tax returns is a plus

Audit/tax senior staff accountant

Gordon Advisors offers all that and more! We are seeking full-time or reduced hour Senior Staff Accountants who are passionate about public accounting and driven to progress in their career. What you can expect in this role:

  • Work directly with partners and managers on tax & audit teams
  • Gain comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives
  • Prepare or review business, individual, and personal property tax returns (including partnerships, C-corporations, and S-corporations).
  • Participate/perform audits, reviews and compilations
  • Prepare and review financial statements and workpapers
  • Review the work of less experienced team members and provide guidance/mentorship
  • Develop relationships with clients and participate in networking and business development activities.
  • Learn and grow from on the job coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications of a strong candidate include:

  • 2+ years of relevant audit and/or tax experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other recognized business credential required
  • Student enrolled in a Master of Accounting or Tax program is a plus (or completion of 150 credit hours)
  • Pursuing eventual CPA licensure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Staff accountant

Gordon Advisors offers all that and more! We are seeking Staff Accountants who are passionate about public accounting and driven to grow in their career. What you can expect in this role:

  • Prepare payroll tax, federal, state and/or local tax and basic personal income tax and business returns
  • Compile workpapers and other accounting reports for a variety of client entities and tax engagements
  • Learn tax concepts and apply appropriate code and regulations to client situations
  • Record transactions in ledgers, prepare trial balances and simple financial statements
  • Reconcile accounts to control accounts

Qualifications of a strong candidate include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • 150 credit hours completed or master’s in accounting a plus
  • Actively working toward passing the CPA Exam as soon as possible
  • Desire to learn and a teachable personality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A dedication to teamwork, collaboration and leadership
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and possess sufficient skills to navigate within commonly used software programs
